Bonorong

Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary is a haven for native Tasmanian animals, dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating wildlife in need. Visitors can enjoy close encounters with unique species like Tasmanian devils, wombats, and kangaroos, while learning about conservation efforts from passionate local guides.

Richmond

Immerse yourself in history as you stroll through the village of Richmond. This is a popular destination for its well-preserved Georgian village atmosphere, complete with Australia’s oldest bridge and Catholic church, which transport visitors back to the early 19th century. Its charming streets, lined with historic cottages, artisan shops, and cozy cafes, make it a picturesque spot for experiencing Tasmania’s colonial history and culture.

To delve further into the region’s history, you may choose to visit Richmond Gaol (now a popular tourist attraction) which shares the story of harsh convict life of early colonial Tasmania. Head down to the river to see the friendly ducks, visit the maze and the quaint local shops stocking a variety of unique products. A visit to the lolly shop is a must for the kids and perhaps the more sophisticate palate would enjoy the Richmond Chocolate Shop.

Tour Itinerary:

• Pickup Campbell Street Bus Stop, next to Hotel Grand Chancellor (500m walk from MAC02 cruise terminal)
• Visit to Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary
• Visit to Richmond
• Return to the Hobart waterfront near the cruise ship terminal
